Treasury Department Equips Church Leaders
The Treasury Department of the Gulf States Conference held a Treasurers’ Training on March 8, 2026, at the Gulf States Conference office. The event brought together local church treasurers and assistant treasurers from across the conference territory for a time of instruction, collaboration, and encouragement in their vital ministry.
Throughout the training, presenters from the conference Treasury Department reviewed key topics related to the responsibilities of local church treasurers. Sessions included guidance on financial procedures, stewardship principles, and best practices for maintaining accurate records and supporting the mission of the church through faithful financial management.
Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and learn practical tools to strengthen their work in their respective churches. The training emphasized the important role treasurers play in ensuring transparency, accountability, and trust in the handling of church resources.
Nefty Franco, associate treasurer of the Gulf States Conference, highlighted the importance of ongoing training for those serving in this role.
“We are grateful for the dedication of our church treasurers and assistant treasurers,” Franco said. “These trainings are designed to equip them with the knowledge and confidence they need to faithfully manage church resources and support the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.”
Attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to receive updated information and connect with others serving in treasury ministry. The annual training continues to serve as an important resource for strengthening financial leadership in local congregations.
Such initiatives reflect the conference’s commitment to supporting church leaders and ensuring that financial practices across the territory remain organized, transparent, and mission-focused—helping the church continue its work of sharing the gospel throughout the Gulf States Conference.
