Teen Invitationals
A Teen Invitational is a more flexible, group-driven event compared to structured Pathfinder events. Here’s a summary of the setup and expectations:
1. Event Structure: Unlike Pathfinder events, Teen Invitationals don’t follow a strict schedule or centralized time program. Your group’s schedule will largely depend on the plans of your chaperone or group leader.
2. Supervision: Group leaders or chaperones are responsible for supervising and keeping their group members together throughout the event. There’s no requirement for groups to stay in one specific area, so each group may operate independently.
3. Camping Logistics: For activities like rock climbing, caving, backpacking the events are held at locations we don’t own.
Rock Climbing? this means:
- Each group is responsible for paying their own camping dues.
- Finding a campsite is up to each group, and groups don’t need to camp all together.
4. Event Flow:
- Friday Arrival: If you are not giving a specific time of arrival, groups typically arrive at various times on Friday to set up camp.
- Sabbath Gathering: All groups meet on Sabbath for a collective worship session.
- Afternoon Activity: The climbing activity is scheduled for Sabbath afternoon.
5. Meals: Each group is responsible for bringing their own meals for the weekend.
Consent Forms
Teens: A Conference Activity Consent Form signed by a parent/guardian is required for all teens.
Bring Forms: Bring the signed form for each person in your group.
FAQ
-
Every time your Youth Group is promoting an event that is high risk (campouts, rock climbing, caving etc.…) YES, purchase event insurance. For regular youth/club meetings (includes share your faith, can collecting), your general liability will cover as long as the event is local. If you are taking the club out of your territory, purchase insurance.
-
The only policy purchased for the whole year covers regular club meetings. This typically goes in to effect with our general policy (May to May). Activities Accident will have to be purchased every time you go on high risk activities or activities at a long distance from local church.
