Treasurers Gather at Camp Alamisco for Spiritual Renewal and Fellowship
Local church and school treasurers gathered at Camp Alamisco in Dadeville, Alabama, September 18–20, 2026, for the Gulf States Conference Treasurer’s Retreat. Centered on the theme “Teachings from the Mountain,” the weekend combined worship, fellowship, and opportunities to reflect on faithful stewardship.
Gulf States Conference President Brian Danese served as the main speaker. His messages anchored a program that included Friday evening worship, Sabbath services and vespers, and a Sunday devotional and question-and-answer session. The retreat was designed to strengthen participants spiritually and encourage them in their responsibilities as ministry leaders.
In her welcome message, conference treasurer Gwen Speak thanked local treasurers for the work and dedication required to keep church and school finances up to date. She recognized their willingness to invest time in this vital part of ministry.
The program also included Sabbath School led by conference auditor Daryl Mupuni, along with contributions from the treasury team. Shared meals and recreation time provided opportunities for fellowship beyond the worship services. The schedule offered boat rides, a family movie, and Sunday activities, weather permitting.
With its emphasis on spiritual renewal and faithful service, the retreat highlighted the connection between financial stewardship and the Church’s mission. It offered space to pause, worship together, and recognize the people whose dedicated work supports ministry in local congregations and schools.
