This is my first visit to Camp Alamisco. What should I expect?Camp Alamisco is a peaceful, rustic, camp located on Lake Martin near Dadeville, Alabama. It's hilly terrain and beautiful shoreline make this the perfect setting for this year's Autumn Renewal. In order to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings, we invite you to wear comfortable clothing. Among many of the activities available during our weekend retreat are pontoon boat rides and hiking. The temperature during Autumn Renewal varies from year to year. You might wish to bring a light jacket or blanket for the vespers service and outdoor activities. Please keep in mind that you will need to bring your own bedding, bath linens, and toiletries. You may also wish to bring bottled water and a flashlight. Please do not bring candles. Click here for a virtual tour of Camp Alamisco or visit the Camp Alamisco website for more information. Are we having a Women's Retreat in 2008?We will not be having our typical Autumn Renewal retreat at Camp Alamisco in 2008. However, we will be having several area day retreats. We want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy a "mini" retreat within the Gulf States Conference and participate in the Southern Union Women's Conference in Atlanta, GA in Sept. 2008. See Calendar for more information. We will resume our Gulf States Women's Retreats in March 2009. Check this site for more information as it becomes available. Back to Top
