 CAMP ALAMISCO SUMMER 2012

Today it seems as though you are out of place if you express your desire to follow Jesus or want to be like Him in all that you do, you just don’t fit in. This is nothing new! Why would you want to be the one who is looked upon as “foolish” or “Crazy”? The reason is simple: Jesus has done something for us that the world cannot comprehend. Going to Calvary’s cross to save us, is crazy in the world’s eyes, but to us it is an amazing love.

In I Cor. 13  ("Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil; rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Love never faileth." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8), we find a whole chapter describing this “Crazy Love”.  Read it and you will discover, what true Love is all about.

We are not worthy of God's love, but Christ, our surety, is worthy,    and is abundantly able to save all who shall come unto Him. Whatever may have been your past experience, however discouraging your present circumstances, if you will come to Jesus just as you are, weak, helpless, and despairing, our compassionate Saviour will meet you a great way off, and will throw about you His arms of love and His robe of righteousness.

He presents us to the Father clothed in the white raiment of His own character. He pleads before God in our behalf, saying: I have taken the sinner's place. Look not upon this wayward child, but look on Me, Jesus. Contemplate the unfathomable love that was manifested upon the cross of Calvary, FOR YOU!

We are very blessed in the Gulf States Conference with a summer camp that children, young people and families can go to a place, where the whole summer we play, teach and demonstrate this “Crazy Love”. At Camp Alamisco, you see Jesus in nature, in the staff, and in all the activities we do.  Come and be apart of a group who believes that Jesus is the One who has shown the “Crazy Love” for each of us and we can be with Him for all eternity.

See you this summer at Alamisco!!!
